Katarzyna Trylnik graduated in 1999 magna cum laude from The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she studied with prof. Halina Słonicka. She won many international vocal competitions, including the Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Festival and Competition in Nowy Sącz in 1997 (Special Merit Award), the International Antony Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 1997 (2nd prize), and the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition in Warsaw in 1998. Her wide repertoire includes Micaela in Carmen, the title role in Rusalka, Marguerite in Faust, Cleopatra in Julius Cesar, as well as main roles in Hänsel und Gretel, Flis and Verbum nobile (by Moniuszko), L’incoronazione di Poppea, La Traviata, La Bohème, Turando, Dido and Aeneas, Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte and Le Nozze di Figaro. She started her long collaboration with the Polish National Opera in 2002, appearing as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and went on to sing Lissete in Puccini’s La Rondine (2003), Musetta in La Bohème (2007), and Basia in Zabobon by Kurpiński (2007). Her recent parts include Micaela in Carmen, Ascanius in Les Troyens, Liu in Turandot, and Susanna as well as Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro. She has appeared abroad in many musical centres, including Bremen, Munich, Frankfurt, Augsburg, Dubai, Moscow (Bolshoi Theatre), Münster, Paris, Vilinus and in Sicily. She has also sung with most Polish orchestras, under a series of notable conductors such as Kai Bumann, Łukasz Borowicz, Roland Böer, Valery Gergiev, Jacek Kaspszyk, Kazimierz Kord, Carlo Montanaro, Michał Nesterowicz, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Grzegorz Nowak, Marek Pijarowski, Modestas Pitrenas, Jerzy Salwarowski, Ruben Silva, Antoni Wicherek, Antoni Wit and Tadeusz Wojciechowski. She is constantly widening her impressive repertoire of oratorios and cantatas, which ranges from the baroque to the contemporary and includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Bruckner, Dvořák, Mahler, Mozart, Rossini and Szymanowski.
