Claudio Corbach started playing the cello at the age of eight. Between 1994 and 2000 he studied at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns-Eisler” in Berlin and, as a pupil of Michael Sanderling, at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/Main. Claudio Corbach was winner of the International Chamber Music Competition in Thessaloniki (in the stringed instrument/piano discipline). Since 2000 he has been a member of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he was associate principal cellist until 2004. He has increasingly dedicated himself to chamber music and was principal cellist of the Orpheus Ensemble and the Berlin Opera Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Claudio Corbach has played in various ensembles in Germany and abroad, and participated in a number of CD productions.
