Eleonore Marguerre studied operatic singing in Karlsruhe and Vienna, where she graduated with honors. She made her debut during the 2010/11 season in Mozart’s Lucio Silla in Nice and in Lehár’s The Merry Widow in Nancy. Her repertoire ranges from Monteverdi and Cavalli through Handel, Rossini, Verdi (Traviata), Massenet (Manon), and Wagner to contemporary composers. She has already been engaged by Milan’s La Scala, Paris’s Opéra de Bastille, in Bordeaux, Essen, Dortmund, and Glyndbourne for the major soprano roles in the operas of Mozart. Further engagements have included the Bregenz Festival, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Semperoper in Dresden, and the Vienna State Opera. She has collaborated with conductors such as Christopher Hogwood, Adam Fischer, Jac van Steen, Julia Jones, Bruno Weil, Eliahu Inbal, Giovanni Antonini, and Massimo Zanetti. Eleonore Marguerre has been a prizewinner at a number of international voice competitions, including the Boris Christoff Competition, the Marcello Viotti Concours, the Leyla Gencer Voice Competition, and the Competizione dell’ Opera. Concerts and recitals have taken her to Japan, Norway, France, and Switzerland. Among her CDs recordings are Mozart’s fragment Demofoonte (Arts Music) and von Suppé’s The Beautiful Galathea (Capriccio) with Bruno Weil and the Capella Coloniensis.
